The 4th annual JULYDOSCOPE is a FREE evening of Art, Dance, and Film on July 19, 2014.

Julydoscope begins with high-energy, multi-dance company performances at 7:00 PM, followed by a screening of the award-winning documentary Twenty Feet From Stardom at 8:45 PM. All events are free.

FILM SCREENING

Synopsis: Backup singers live in a world that lies just beyond the spotlight. Their voices bring harmony to the biggest bands in popular music, but we’ve had no idea who these singers are or what lives they lead, until now. Watch a trailer.

This film is rated PG-13 for some strong language and sexual material.

DANCE PERFORMANCES

Dance Companies include Hierro Forjado, Mnemosyne International, Dance of Asian America, Compania Folklorica Alegria Mexicana, and Urban Souls. The Dance Program was curated by Dance Source Houston.

The Flea By Night will take place from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Food trucks on site: The Golden Grill, It’s a Wrap! mobile bistro, Churrasco To Go, What’s up, Cupcake?, Porch Swing Desserts.

The music for the Flea By Night will feature singer/songwriter Lainey Balagia performing with fellow Texas Music Award nominee Brant Croucher and her band. The performance will be from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.  Dancing is encouraged at the Transier Bandstand stage.
